Coimbatore : Young Parth Ghorpade of Team Amaron Pro Racing with Meco yet again showcased his abundant talent with a telling qualifying session to grab the pole position in the junior category as the second round of the JK Tyre Indian National Rotax Max Karting Championship began here Saturday.
Ghorpade, who hails from Kolhapur, has had stints in Europe in recent weeks and the experience was evident as he was miles ahead of the field while clocking the day’s fastest lap of 38.491 seconds.
Behind Ghorpade were Bangaloreans Nikhil Kashyap and Arjun Maini of Team Red Rooster Racing.
In fact, Ghropade’s time was better than even the seasoned Ameya Walwalkar of Team of Team Mohite Racing, who topped in the senior section with 38.381.
Mumbai racer Gurikk Mann (Team Red Rooster) will start in second place while another Mumbaite Samyak Shah (Team Meco Racing) took the third spot on the grid.
In the Rotax Micro Max category, Mumbai’s Jehan Daruwala (Team Rayo Racing) qualified for pole position clocking 46.668 seconds, ahead of Surya Raghuraman (Team Meco Racing) and Dhruv Mohite (Mohite’s Racing).
