Kashmir terror case: Bail application rejected

Kochi: The Thalasseri sessions court again adjourned the trial proceedings of the terror case in which four Keralites were killed in encounter with the army in Kashmir. The case has been posted for September 8. The court also rejected the bail application submitted by the accused.

The trial proceedings against seven out of the 23 accused was adjourned following a request from the prosecution side for the trial of all the 23 in the case together. This is the third adjournment of the trial. The seven accused are Muhammed Nainar Ali, V Firoz, KM Muhammed Navas, PV Sabir Sukhari, PV Anas, P Shaneej and CP Abdul Hameed.

The accused had applied for bail mentioning the long delay in the primary hearing of the case in court. They had also complained that they were subjected to inhuman treatment in the Kannur Central Jail. They complained that they were kept to solitary confinement and that their relatives coming to visit them were badly treated by the jail authorities.
