Central Haj Committee to give Civil Service Training

Kochi: The central Haj Committee has decided to give training for aspiring Muslims in the civil services. The decision was taken as part of finding a solution to the backwardness of the community in the higher job circle including the civil services. A coaching centre named ‘IAS and Allied Services Coaching and Guidance Cell’ will be opened at the centre of the Haj Committee in Mumbai.

Fifty students will be given training in the centre annually. Students will be selected through written test and interview. The selected will be provided hostel accommodation and food at very low rates. Prof SAM Hashmi is appointed as the director of the training course. There are also plans to introduce scholarships for financially backward students.

The duration of the course will be 14 months. Classes will be held on all days of the week. Those who wish to join should apply before October 16. The application form can be downloaded from the website of the Haj Committee.
