Pakistani diplomat electrocuted in Delhi home

New Delhi : A senior diplomat of the Pakistan High Commission died after being electrocuted at his south Delhi home, sources said here Monday.

Political counsellor at the mission Mohabbat Khan Afridi was killed at about 9.30 p.m. Sunday. He was in his bathroom to take a shower when he reportedly touched a hair dryer and was electrocuted.

Family member broke open the door and found his hand charred, sources said.

Afridi, who lived with his wife and two school-going children in Vasant Vihar, was immediately taken to Fortis hospital nearby but was declared dead on arrival.

His body was sent to Pakistan in the early hours of Monday through the Wagah border. His family and Pakistan High Commission officials accompanied the body.
