Principal Secretary (Health) Deepak Sanan told IANS that Yogesh Bhardwaj, who was head of the oral surgery department in the Government Dental College of the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMCH), was suspended Wednesday for allegedly sexually harassing a postgraduate medical student.

“Action against the doctor has been initiated on the basis of findings of the sexual harassment committee of the Government Dental College. Prima facie, it seems to be a case of sexual harassment,” he said.

The police Nov 10 registered the case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Bhardwaj on the complaint of the student.
