Cuban newspaper Juventud Rebelde dedicated its cover to this news, as a result of current transformations in Cuba to improve quality of life of the population.

Currently, Cuban social workers are investigating the care of the elderly people, which has now reached about 1.8 million.

Enrique Gomez Cabezas is at the head of the national project and told Juventud Rebelde that the 7th anniversary of this initiative will be commemorated with a meeting on the impact of the different missions in Cuban society.

Delegates will also discuss attention to children and the disabled, employment, crime and social reinsertion, and the tasks of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (ALBA).

Among the successes, Cabezas mentioned the studies they did that have resulted in determining child nutrition needs, and structuring care in that area.
