Pakistan: Federal govt gives special importance to Balochistan issue

Islamabad : Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Azeem Daultana has said that it is for the first time that the federal government has given special importance to Balochistan to remove environment of mistrust.

Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said that the government has decided to change the Balochistan policy by giving the Baloch people their due role in construction projects and resources of the province.

To a question regarding the outcome of the initiatives taken by the Federal government for talks with the Baloch leaders, he said that government is striving to acknowledge the rights of the Baloch people and trying to bring the area at par with other provinces.

Daultana said that some Baloch leaders are still annoyed because of policies of the previous government and that the government understands their annoyance and bring to clear the atmosphere of mistrust.

He said that the Balochistan issue will not be resolved in days but will take some time.

He hoped that the annoyed Baloch leaders will accept political resolution of the issues related to Balochistan.

He said that the incumbent government will not repeat the mistakes committed by the previous governments and will try its best to heal the wounds of Baloch people.
