Kolkata: West Bengal Home Secretary Ardhendu Sen Sunday visited the violence-hit Shilda Eastern Frontier Rifles (EFR) camp in West Bengal’s West Midnapore district that was stormed by a group of armed Maoists Feb 15.
Sen reviewed the security scenario in the entire area along with senior state police officers, including state Criminal Investigative Department (CID)’s Additional Director General of Police Raj Kanojia and Inspector General (Western Range) Zulfiqar Hassan.
The officials refused to speak to mediapersons during their visit to the incident site.
The Maoists attacked Shilda EFR camp last month and killed 25 people — 24 EFR troopers and a civilian — during the attack.
The home secretary also held a meeting with senior police and administrative officials to discuss the security infrastructure in the district.
