New Delhi : Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit Saturday condoled the demise of former vice president Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, describing him as an “experienced and dedicated leader”.
“He was an experienced and dedicated leader. He will be remembered for his services during his tenure as the chief minister of Rajasthan,” Dikshit said in a press statement.
Shekhawat, 86, was a three-time Rajasthan chief minister. He was admitted to the Sawai Man Singh Hospital here Thursday after he complained of uneasiness and breathing problems caused by a lung infection.
He is survived by his wife Suraj Kanwar and a daughter. Shekhawat’s wife and son-in-law Narpat Singh Rajvee, a Bharatiya Janata Party legislator were present at the hospital.
