New Delhi : Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will be the key speaker at a two-day Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) conference on “good governance” in Mumbai.
“Modi is the most senior successful chief minister of the BJP. Everybody has lauded his work including Muslims and the central government,” BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar told IANS.
The conference will be held June 5 and 6 in Bhayandar near Mumbai. BJP president Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the meet and Modi will deliver the keynote address.
Senior party leaders L.K. Advani, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley and Yashwant Sinha will also attend.
Besides all BJP chief ministers and deputy chief ministers, ministers from BJP and BJP-alliance governments will participate.
BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman told IANS: “This is the first time in India any political party is holding a meeting to discuss good governance. This is to revitalise the party.”
