There is a move to eliminate Abdunnasir Ma’dani who is an Islamic scholar, leader of a political party acknowledged by the Election Commission and handicapped person. The central government should take care not to make Ma’dani a black dote in the judicial history of the country. Mr Siraj urged the state government to fulfill its responsibilities in the matter.

The PDP leaders also said that Ma’dani was ready to undergo punishment if he was found guilty in the judicial probe. The Kerala society knows it is a fabricated case made up of fake witnesses and false evidences. He should be given humanitarian considerations. They opined that the matter be discussed in the Kerala Assembly. The party will submit a petition before the Assembly Speaker requesting a probe into the matter by an Assembly sub-committee.

The SDPI yesterday criticised the policy of both the LDF and the UDF in the matter of Ma’dani. It accused that the fronts’ policies were betraying and hypocritical. The party leaders also urged Ma’dani to leave the CPI (M) relation and to line up in the front for the backward-oppressed-minority sections, if the government was not ready to defend and protect him from the moves to charge fabricated cases against him.

Meanwhile the PDP has decided to strengthen its agitation to ensure justice to Ma’dani. The party will reportedly organize foot marches all over the state from July 21 to 27. A public conference also will be held at the end of the foot marches.

Abdunnasir Ma’dani is the 31st accused in the Bengaluru blast case. The Bengaluru court had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against him which would expire on July 6. The anticipatory bail petition submitted by Ma’dani was postponed several times and is reported to be considered on July 7. Ma’dani maintains that he is innocent of the charges against him and that the whole case against him is fabricated. He has also reportedly raised doubts on the deliberate involvement of some IB officials to trap him.
