The two parties had a secret understanding to create confusion during the elections, the chief minister and Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader told reporters.

“But it will not work as people have made up their minds to finish both of them,” Nitish Kumar said after Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) legislator Izhar Ahmad joined the JD-U.

“People wanted to give one more chance to the NDA (the National Democratic Alliance) government for development of the state,” he added, while launching a scathing attack on RJD chief Lalu Prasad and the LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan.

Bihar’s assembly elections are to be held over six phases beginning Oct 21 and ending Nov 20.
