These sentiments were expressed by Vice-President (V-P) of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) Maulana Kalbe Sadiq on Wednesday who claimed to have chalked out a formula for settling the Ayodhya dispute. “I will unveil it before the AIMPLB after the verdict and if they do not relent, I will approach the court. Believe me, I will strive for solving the issue in 2010 itself,” he said.

He was speaking at a programme organised at press club on Wednesday for maintaining unity in wake of Ayodhya verdict.

Sadiq known for his oratory skills was at his best when he compared Ayodhya with ‘Haram’-the holy place of Muslims in Mecca. “In Haram you cannot kill even mosquito, similarly Ayodhya means a place where there is no yudh. The mandir-masjid are made by human beings but our priority should be things made by Almighty which is human being,” said Sadiq.

Posing a question before the audience, the shia cleric asked: “If Ram and Mohammad are reborn, will they also fight?”

He emphasized that India will not be allowed to turn into another Pakistan where people from same religion are involved in bloodshed. “Whatever be the decision, we will not allow this country to witness riots,” he stressed.

Several other prominent clerics as Imam-e-Juma, Maulana Kalbe Jawwad, Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahli, Maulana Hameedul Hasan and Anees Ansari, Head, of Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, Sardar Rajinder Singh Bagga, Lucknow University’s Professor Dr Ramesh Dixit and its former Vice-Chancellor (V-C) Prof Roop Rekha Verma also appealed for peace and communal harmony in the country.

On the occasion, Maulana Farangi Mahli stated that special duas will be held after Friday prayers for maintaining peace in the country.
