London : All tube lines were hit in the latest strike to hit London underground as millions of commuters faced travel disruptions on their way to work on Monday.
The 24-hour strike is the second over jobs cuts and comes after drivers, signallers, and maintenance and station staff staged a walkout last month that severely disrupted travel services in the British capital.
Two tube lines were suspended, while services on other lines were disrupted as Transport for London laid on 100 extra buses and increased capacity for more than 10,000 extra river journeys.
Only the Docklands Light Railway and London Overground were running normal services.
The latest strike, which started on Sunday, is over plans to cut 800 ticket office jobs, which trade unions say will also affect safety.
Unions say that there will be two further walk-outs next month if the dispute remains unresolved. In the meantime, a ban has also been imposed on overtime.
