Beijing : China’s Vice President Xi Jinping has been appointed vice chairman of the powerful Central Military Commission (CMC), a move that may make him the likely successor to President Hu Jintao.
An announcement in this regard was made at a meeting of the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC) Monday, Xinhua reported.
Xi is also a member of the standing committee of the political bureau of the CPC central committee.
