Advocate Zafaryab Jilani, who is appearing for the board, told TwoCircles.net that, “one of our main arguments is that Allahabad High Court verdict is essentially based on faith rather than evidences about the actual place of birth of lord Ram.”

“That is why we have argued in the petition that, the verdict is against the Articles 25 and 26 of the Constitution which gives equal rights to all faith,” added Mr. Jilani.

The Waqf Board, which is one of the original litigants in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suits, has got the backing of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB).

On September 30, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court delivered its verdict asking for the division of the disputed land into three parts with one-third going to the Sunni Waqf Board, one-third to the Nirmohi Akhara and final one-third to the party for ‘Ram Lalla’.
