In a letter to Bhardwaj, released to the media, Yeddyurappa said he had deputed a senior officer who met the governor’s principal secretary and the governor himself but was not given a copy.

Yeddyurappa said soon after seeing media reports about Bhardwaj’s sanction, “I deputed one of our senior officers from the CM’s secretariat to Raj Bhavan to collect a copy of the said sanction order.

“Officer deputed for the purpose met your principal secretary and also yourself and requested for a copy of the order. I understand that Your Excellency declined to provide
the copy of the order,” Yeddyurappa said in the letter.

“It is very unfortunate that being a constitutional Head of the state, a copy of the order passed was not handed over to me and the information of such an order was divulged to the press.

“In this connection I would like to bring to your notice that so far I have neither received a copy of complaint petition nor an opportunity to explain my point of view. I hereby once again request you to provide the copy of the said sanction order immediately,” Yeddyurappa said.
