Chandigarh : Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda Wednesday said that the state has attracted investment worth Rs.37.5 billion from his recent visit to the US, Canada and Germany.
Hooda told reporters here Wednesday evening that a non-resident Indian (NRI) owned company, Spectrum International, alone had announced an investment of Rs.20 billion in food preservation and processing industry in the state.
Hooda headed a delegation of ministers and officials to these countries Oct 8-20.
The chief minister said that leading healthcare products manufacturer Hollister also had announced it would set a unit worth Rs.2.5 billion at Bawal in Rewari district of the state. “It will be a 100-percent export-oriented unit,” said Hooda.
Another US-based company, Dr Fresh, has announced plans to set up a Rs.12 billion special economic zone (SEZ) in the state.
“Haryana is seen by foreign companies as an ideal destination for investment in India. This will further help in the development of the state,” said the chief minister.
