To get justice Urdu reporter’s wife approaches President

By TCN Staff Reporter,

Patna: After her all efforts to get justice for her husband failed, Zeba Tabassum has shot off a letter to President Pratibha Singh Patil seeking her intervention for justice. Zeba is the wife of Syed Jawaid Hassan who was appointed as Urdu reporter in the Bihar Legislative Council in 2005 when Jabir Husain was the chairman of the council. But as soon as Tarakant Jha assumed the office as the chairman of the council, he terminated Syed Jawaid Hasan in 2010 referring legal opinion by then Advocate General P.K Shahi who is now Bihar’s Minister for Human Resources Development.

Hassan made all efforts to get his job back. He knocked the doors of all the concerned persons including Chief Minister seeking justice and end to the financial problems he has been facing for the last one year after he was dismissed. But he could not find any solution of his problems.

The most shocking part of the story is that Hasan was not even informed officially by the council secretariat about his removal and was not issued any show-cause notice. The issue has been raised in the Assembly and Council several times by leader of opposition and also many prominent personalities wrote to chairman Tarakant Jha with a plea to consider his decision but all in vain. Meanwhile, there are some reports that the present Advocate General Rambalak Mahto has held Hasan’s appointment legal.

However, Tabassum said that she will meet the President Patil to inform her about the matter so that her husband could get justice. The president is coming to Patna on March 22, to inaugurate the centenary celebration of the Upper House.
