Malappuram: Those Hajj applicants who have been selected by the Kerala Hajj Committee and are in Gulf countries should submit their passports by September 15, informed the Central Hajj Committee CEO Dr Zakir Husain. The passports should be submitted at the Central Hajj Committee Office in Mumbai. He was speaking at a meeting of the state Hajj Committee in the Karippur Hajj House.
Though the Central Hajj Committee has decided to select those applicants who are above 70 years of age, only those having passports will be eligible for this consideration. Those who have lost chance for Hajj even after applying for four continuous years will also be selected without waiting for drawing lots, but they too will be eligible on the condition of having passports only. Those who have not submitted their passports in the stipulated time will be selected only by drawing lots, including them in the general list.
Dr Zakir Husain was received by the office-bearers of the State Hajj Committee in the Hajj House, Karippur. Committee chairman Adv PTA Raheem (MLA), Malappuram District Collector PM Francis, K Muhammedunni Haji (MLA), Central Hajj Committee member Prof Abdul Hameed, Thodiyur Muhammed Kunji Moulavi, SV Rahmatullah, Qasim Koya Ponnani, AV Abdu Haji and Aboobaker Vengad were present.
