According to the medical bulletin issued by Sathya Sai Super Speciality Hospital at Puttaparthi in Anantapur district, all the organs are showing very poor response to the treatment.

“Non-functioning of the liver and persistent episodes of low blood pressure are causing great worry to the doctors,” said the statement by hospital director A.N. Safaya.

However, most of the parameters have still been kept at nearly normal levels by the use of appropriate medicines.

The breathing is still ventilator dependent. And the process of slow haemodialysis has been started in the morning to assist the kidneys, added the statement.

The 85-year-old spiritual leader, seen as the incarnation of god by his devotees in India and abroad, was admitted to the hospital March 28 with breathing problem. The doctors later said he was suffering from multi-organ dysfunction.

With the deterioration in the health condition of Baba, the Andhra Pradesh government has gone on an alert. Additional police forces were rushed to the town from other parts of Anantapur and neighbouring districts.
