Tehran : An Iranian lawmaker has proposed tripartite cooperation among Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan in fighting terrorism, state-run Press TV reported.
Such a cooperation will help eliminate US presence in the region, said Kazem Jalali, spokesman for the parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission.
The US justifies its military presence in the region by using terror as a pretext, he was quoted as saying by Xinhua.
Jalali described the establishment of a security apparatus in the region as an effective move to preserve security and stability in the region.
He said the best way to fight terrorism was close cooperation between security and intelligence apparatus of Iran and Pakistan.
