Dr. Reddy’s Lab Q4 net profit down 34 percent

Mumbai : Pharmaceutical major Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd Friday reported a decline of 34.48 percent in its net profit for the fourth quarter of 2010-11, which stood at Rs.165.87 crore as compared to Rs.253.16 crore in the like period of the previous fiscal.

“The company has posted a net profit of Rs.165.87 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011 as compared to Rs.253.16 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2010,” the company said in a statement.

The company’s total income increased by 7.11 percent in the quarter under review, which stood at Rs.1,375.77 crore as against Rs.1,284.43 crore in the fourth quarter of 2009-10.

“Total income has increased from Rs.1,284.43 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2010 to Rs.1,375.77 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011,” the statement added.

The pharma major’s net profit for the full financial year of 2010-11 increased marginally by 5.58 percent, which stood at Rs.893.31 crore from Rs.846.08 crore in the previous fiscal.

Total income in the period increased by 14.80 percent to Rs.5,424.01 crore, compared to Rs.4,724.64 crore in 2009-10.
