Faridabad: “I have lost all women in my family,” a disconsolate Shobha Ram said, as he tried to come to terms with the freak accident in which an air ambulance came crashing down on his house, killing his wife, daughter and daughter-in-law.
“It’s a tough time for us. We have lost our daughter, family and they have sealed our house. Where will we people live and where should we take the dead bodies,” he said.
The tragedy occurred late Wednesday night when an air ambulance carrying a critically ill patient from Patna crashed in this crowded Delhi suburb, killing all the seven occupants of the plane and three people on the ground.
Ram’s two-storey house in the crowded Parvatiya colony has been turned into a pile of broken bricks.
His wife Vedavati, 55, daughter Sarita, 19, and daughter-in-law Rani, 20, were sleeping on the roof as there was a power cut in the locality.
Ram and his son escaped unhurt.
