Turning down Koda’s plea for bail on medical grounds, CBI judge N.N. Singh directed the authorities to extend all possible medical treatment to him.

The CBI had opposed the bail plea, saying that different agencies were investigating the cases against Koda and evidence had been found against him in many cases.

Koda was arrested in November 2009 after Income Tax and Enforcement Directorate officials raided 69 places in India including houses he owned, on complaints that he possessed assets disproportionate to his income.

Koda is also at the centre of a Rs.2,500-crore money laundering scam. In 2009, the ED had lodged a separate money laundering case against Koda and his associates.
