Shillong : India Friday named Air Marshal Kishan Kumar Nohwar as the next vice chief of the Indian Air Force (IAF), an officer said.
Nohwar will replace Air Marshal N.A.K Browne, who will August 1 take over as the IAF chief on the retirement of Air Chief Marshal P.V. Naik.
“Air Marshal Nohwar will take over as vice chief of air staff on August 1,” IAF spokesman, Ranjeeb Sahoo told IANS.
Nohwar presently heads the Eastern Air Command, which is undergoing a massive infrastructure and assets upgradation.
Nohwar, who has 3,400 hours of flying to his credit and has flown MiG-21 and Mig-27 aircraft, was commissioned as fighter pilot of the IAF on June 24, 1972.
