“In view of increase in ATF price, scheduled domestic airlines have increased airline fuel charge component of the airfare up to a maximum of Rs.1,400 during January 2011 to June 2011,” Ravi informed the Lok Sabha through a written reply.

Ravi further said that total airfare in domestic sectors depended upon market forces.

“With a view to maintaining transparency in tariff publication, domestic airlines have been asked to display established tariff route-wise and fare category-wise on monthly basis,” Ravi said.

Ravi added that airlines also have to notify any changes in fare to DGCA within 24 hrs of effecting such a change.
