Islamabad : Websites spreading religious hatred should be blocked, a Pakistani court directed, adding that access to Google and other search engines should not be denied.
The Lahore High Court told the information technology ministry to block access to all websites that were spreading religious hatred in the country, reported Dawn Tuesday.
The court added that access to Google and any other search engine should not be denied.
The ministry would have to submit a compliance report by Oct 6.
Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed was hearing a petition seeking a permanent ban on access to Facebook for hosting a contest of blasphemous caricatures.
