Pakistan exports up 13 percent

Islamabad : Pakistan’s exports rose by 13 percent in the first four months of the current fiscal year, compared to the corresponding period last year, Xinhua reported Thursday.

Exports during July-October reached $7.8 billion, while exports in the same period last year were about $7 billion, according to the Trade and Development Authority of Pakistan.

Imports in the first four months of the current fiscal year stood at around $14 billion, up about 17 percent, while imports in the same period last year were about $12 billion.

In October, the country’s total exports were valued at $1.8 billion, down 2.2 percent compared with last year, while imports registered a 12.9 percent year-on-year increase to about $3.6 billion.
