Islamabad : An independent, prosperous, stable and sovereign Afghanistan was in Pakistan’s interest, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said.
Gilani Tuesday reiterated support to an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process.
He, however, emphasized that Pakistan did not want an Afghan solution that could destabilize Pakistan as was the case last time when three million Afghan refugees took shelter in Pakistan and many are still in Pakistan, reported Associated Press of Pakistan.
Talking to a five-member delegation from Britain led by National Security Advisor Peter Ricketts here Tuesday, Gilani said Pakistan wants early return of the Afghan refugees with honour and dignity.
