Islamabad : President Asif Ali Zardari has asked Sherry Rehman, ambassador-designate to the US, to concentrate on further enhancing Pakistan-US bilateral ties with a focus on strengthening trade ties.
Zardari met Rehman at the Aiwan-e-Sadr Thursday.
Rehman said she would augment Pakistan’s bilateral relations with the US, reported Associated Press of Pakistan.
Former minister Rehman was appointed envoy to the US Wednesday after Husain Haqqani resigned over a secret memo to Washington that claimed Zardari feared a military coup following the May 2 killing of Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad.
