Dhaka : Bangladesh's Foreign Affairs Adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury has dismissed reports in a section of Indian newspapers that Bangladeshi nationals were involved in the planning and execution of Friday's bombing in Hyderabad that claimed 16 lives.
"The accusation is purely speculative and unsubstantiated. Finger-pointing of this kind without adequate proof is extremely unhelpful to the spirit of good neighbourliness," Chowdhury told the media Tuesday.
He asserted, "Bangladesh condemns all terrorist activities" and reiterated that terrorists "have no nationality whatsoever."
A number of Indian newspaper reports have linked the bombing in Hyderabad with an Indian militant group who allegedly imported chemicals from Bangladesh and used the territory of Bangladesh to execute the bombing.
Reports based on intelligence and police inputs have said that the Indian group having links with Bangladesh-based Harkat-ul-Jihad Al Islami (HUJI) was behind the blast at the Mecca Masjid soon after Friday prayers.
