Formed in 2008, Peace Party is yet to win a single seat but has impressive performance with its candidate finishing second and third in the 2010 Lok Sabha by-elections for Lakhimpur Kheri and Domariyaganj, respectively.

“We have party bases in about 60 districts of UP, out of those in 40 districts Peace Party organization has reached to the booth level. At least in 25 districts, we are in a position to win all assembly seats,” declared Dr. Ayub.

“If Peace Party is part of the government in 2012 then I firmly believe that Peace Party will form the government alone in 2017.” This will happen, Dr. Ayub argued, because “if we are part of the government then we will win people over by our hard and honest work.”

Talking about strategy for UP elections, Dr. Ayub said that his party is going to contest 100 assembly seats. “I am hopeful that we will win 50 seats in this election.”

UP elections are going to be held in the month of February 2012 in seven-phases.
