Delhi: Rehab India Foundation [RIF], NGO working for the development of the backward and marginalized section of the society, in a function conducted at Jamia Nagar, New Delhi, distributed aids to fifty one beneficiaries under its self employment project. E Aboobacker, Chairman, RIF delivered key note address and inaugurated distribution of the aides to the beneficiaries.
The function witnessed some touching scenes, when handicapped Muhammed Danish of Batla house came to collect micro finance aid from E Aboobacker, Chairman Rehab India Foundation. Muhammed Danish, a young enthusiastic gentleman having now worries regarding his disability was determined to setup his own business using the interest free micro finance scheme provided by Rehab India foundation. Surayya parween of Shaheen Bagh, was delighted to get a brand new sewing machine which could soon help her in leading a self sufficient decent life utilizing her skills.
Program commenced with welcome speech of OMA Salam, General Secretary, Rehab India Foundation. He said “it is important to lead a dignified life in this utilizing the opportunities offered in this function. It’s important to set aside income for the bright future of our children by providing them proper education.”
E Aboobacker, Chairman of Rehab trust reiterated “It’s important to have a mindset that all of us are part of the same family. There is no difference between ‘one who is giving’ and ‘one who is taking’. We are helping each other to become ‘one who can give’ from our stage of ‘one who is taking’.” “It is to be noted that your children could turn out to be an IAS officer, MLA or a Member of Parliament in our country, if they are provided with the right education”, he said.
Dr. Murshid Alam of Jawaharlal Nehru University said “Even if there are lot of govt schemes for the welfare of citizen; it seems not reaching the needy even after implementation due to lack of commitment. In this context it’s important to note the selfless effort of Rehab to help the need of the city to earn a living.”
EM Abul Rahman, Chairman Popular front of India mentioned in his speech “A society cannot survive using external help alone always. It’s important to initiate change within ourselves to solve our own problems. This aide can be a stepping stone in that direction”
