CBI questions legislator in Shehla Masood murder

Bhopal : The Central Bureau of Investigative (CBI) Saturday questioned Madhya Pradesh legislator Dhruv Narayan Singh on his alleged role in RTI activist Shehla Masood’s murder last year, sources said.

CBI sources said that the Bharatiya Janata Party legislator’s close aide Sanjay Gupta, a builder, was also summoned along with him. They said there was a possibility of the lawmaker being arrested.

The probe agency earlier arrested architect Zahida Parvez suspected to be close to the Bhopal legislator.

Investigators recovered a diary of Parvez which threw light on her relations with the legislator, sources said.

Along with Parvez, her friend Saba Farooqui and a criminal Shaqib are also in CBI custody for questioning.

Masood, 32, was shot dead in front of her house here Aug 16 last year. The CBI took over the case three weeks after the murder.
