The TV said the car blast damaged nearby buildings, without giving further details.

The Doha-based pan-Arab al-Jazeera TV cited sources as saying that the blast targeted a brigadier in the Syrian army, who was killed along with three Palestinians, reported Xinhua.

Earlier Saturday, sources told Xinhua that a suicide bomber detonated himself at the 30th street in Yarmouk.

The blast happened almost at the same time as another two bombings — one at al-Jamarek roundabout, targeting the Criminal Security Department, and the other at the al-Tahrir square connecting the Baghdad street with al-Qassaa neighbourhood, targeting the Air Intelligence Directorate, — which killed at least 27 people and wounded 140 others.
