Burton hails Queen Elizabeth for hard work

Los Angeles: Film director Tim Burton respects Britain’s Queen Elizabeth a lot for her hard work and says he would hate to be appointed a Head of State himself ever.

“People rag on the monarchy but when you see the queen in action, she works her a** off. It made me respect how hard her day is,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted Burton as saying.

“It’s like having to attend a premiere every day. I wouldn’t want that job. Tourists like it and it serves its purpose,” he added.

Burton admits he has found meeting the Queen “surreal” and one of the most memorable occasions was when his long-term partner Helena Bonham Carter, with whom he has children Billy, eight, and four-year-old Nell – received a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE).

“I’ve met the Queen a couple of times. It’s one of those surreal moments you get to cross off in life. When Helena received her CBE, we took my daughter – and that was a mistake.

“Having a four-year-old asking, ‘What are they doing now? Why?’,” he had told Live Magazine.
