Gurgaon : Two doctors, including a managing director of a private hospital here, were Tuesday booked for the death of a patient due to their negligence, a police official said.
“We have booked Doctor R.K. Mishra and Doctor Y.S. Gautam under section 304 A of the IPC,” said Vijender Singh, chief of Rajendra Park police station.
The police action came after relatives and family members of patient Satbir Dahiya went on rampage at the Shri Krishna Hospital, vandalizing furniture and setting it on fire.
They also blocked the traffic on the main road in the area for some time and shouted slogans.
The patient was admitted to the hospital in the Dhankot area of Sector 4 Tuesday morning, after he complained of throat pain.
“When Satbir’s condition started deteriorating, we urged the doctors to let us shift him to another competent hospital. But our requests were turned down. The doctors were greedy for money. They claimed my brother’s life,” Satbir’s brother, Jai Bhagwan said.
During the ruckus and arson, the accused doctors managed to escaped from the hospital.
The viscera of the deceased has been sent to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science (PGIMS), Rohtak, for forensic tests.
