New Delhi : Chief Election Commissioner V.S. Sampath will visit Gujarat Monday to review the arrangements for the assembly polls scheduled for December.
“The CEC (chief election commissioner) and the ECs will visit Gujarat on Monday,” according to a poll panel official.
Sampath will be accompanied by election commissioners H.S.Brahma and Nasim Zaidi.
The three are visiting the state for one day and will review election preparedness.
Apart from meeting representatives of politicial parties, they will also also meet state government officials, the official said.
Polls are slated for Dec 13 and 17 in the state, where Chief Minister Narendra Modi is tipped to come back to power for a third consecutive term.
Counting for Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, which is going to polls on Nov 4, will be held on Dec 20.
