Beed (Maharashtra): Four of a family were injured after a radio exploded in a village here Friday, police said.
The incident took place in Kalegaon, 50 km from the district headquarter town of Beed.
“The victim, Om Nimbalkar, 32, is a bus conductor and he went home with an unidentified parcel. When he opened it, he found a radio and tired to play it when it exploded,” police told IANS.
Nimbalkar’s mother Kusum, 55, wife Usha, 30, and son Kunal, 3, were also injured and have been admitted to the local hospital.
Police are awaiting more details as Nimbalkar is not in a position to narrate the exact sequence of events and why he took an unidentified parcel home.
