Patna : Prime ministers of Thailand and Laos will visit the Buddhist pilgrimage town of Bodh Gaya in Bihar Thursday, an official said here Monday.
Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong will offer special prayers at the Mahabodhi temple during their day-long visit to the town, the official said.
The 1,500-year-old Buddhist shrine in Bodh Gaya, some 110 km from here, is where Gautama Buddha is said to have attained enlightenment about 2,550 years ago.
