Lucknow: Five people, including a couple were killed and four others injured Saturday in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda when a speeding truck lost control due to heavy fog and hit a roadside house, police said.
The accident took place in Wazeerganj Kasba Bazaar area.
Due to heavy fog, the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the house killing five inmates, police said.
Superintendent of Police Kripa Shankar Singh told IANS the dead as Mishri Lal, his wife Premwati, Tripurari, Shiv Kumar and Munni Devi.
The truck driver escaped the scene but the cleaner was overpowered by people and handed over to the police.
