Lucknow: Children of an IPS officer Amitabh Thakur and social activist Dr Nutan Thakur reached Gomti Nagar police station to lodge FIR against MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi for inflammatory speeches.

The students from Lucknow, Tanaya Thakur and her brother Aditya gave an application for filing of an FIR against Hyderabad MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi for delivering provocative speech in the Gomti Nagar police station on Thursday. The station officer S K Gautam however did not lodge the complaint in this matter.

Nutan Thakur, the mother of the children informed newsmen that in his speech Owaisi gave certain statements which were highly inflammatory in nature and had the potential of disturbing the communal harmony of the nation. Tanaya and Aditya requested registering FIR under sections 153A, 295A, 298, 504, 505, 506 IPC and 66A IT Act 2000.

Station Officer, Gomti Nagar told these children that he would register an FIR only when any law and order problem erupts and not before this. The children have now written a letter to the SSP, Lucknow to register the case under section 154(3) CrPC and complaining about the SO’s actions and behaviour.

FIR has been lodged against Akbar Owaisi in New Delhi by noted activist Shabnam Hashmi and a case filed in Andhra Pradesh High Court.
