Los Angeles: Actor-filmmaker Ben Affleck walked away with the best director motion picture trophy at the 70th edition of the prestigious Golden Globe awards here for his film “Argo”.
The thriller, which also features Affleck in a key role, narrates a rescue operation of US diplomats from Tehran during the 1979 Iran hostage crisis.
Other nominees in the category were Kathryn Bigelow (“Zero Dark Thirty”), Ang Lee (“Life of Pi”), Steven Spielberg (“Lincoln”) and Quentin Tarantino (“Django Unchained”).
