Saturday’s Premier League match between West Brom and Aston Villa is also under threat, but Albion has announced that they are making “concerted efforts” to get their pitch ready for the kick-off, reports Xinhua.

Football League matches at Accrington, Barnet, Bristol Rovers, Bury, Crawley, Crewe, Hartlepool, Oxford, Port Vale, Rochdale, Scunthorpe, Southend, Torquay and Yeovil have all been postponed.

Big race meetings at Ascot and Haydock Saturday have also been called off.
