Dubai: AMU Alumni Forum UAE hosted a reception in the honor of visiting Indian Journalist, Mr. S. M. Ashraf Fareed, chief editor of Urdu daily Qaumi tanzeem. Qaumi Tanzeem is simultaneous published from Bihar, Jharkhand and Utter Pradesh.
Welcoming the guest, AMU Almuni Forum’s president Mr. S. M. Qutuburrahman highlighted the need of independent media for Muslims. He also stressed on the need for Muslims to be true to its religion and stand for justice and equality. He also stressed on the need to strengthen Urdu media.
Speaking on the occasion, Fareed stressed on the need of community’s support in strengthening the fourth pillar of democracy. He also apprised the listeners with the newspaper’s independent policies and struggle to spread its wing across India. Urdu, he said, has contributed a lot to our culture and all of us must make sure that this language flourish.
Mr. S. M. Khalil while delivering his speech stressed on the need of strengthening the media and free flow of knowledge and information. He stressed that Muslims has lagged behind in this field for far too long and it is high time that we do our best to compensate for the time lost. Good professional journal and newspapers are the need of the hour.
Attending the function was a visiting Indian politician Mr. Tehseen Siddiqui belonging to BSP. He apprised the listeners of his work and contributions. Mr. Mansoor Ali, secretary of the Almuni Forum thanked the guest and Mr. Adil, vice president of the forum conducted the function.
