Good base of grassroot level coaches needed: Koevermans

Kolkata: India’s national football team coach Wim Koevermans Tuesday called for building up a good base of grassroot level coaches to improve the standards of the game in the country.

“We need to have a strong base of coaches at the grassroots. This will help improve the standards of the game in the country at the age group level,” the Dutchman told media persons after meeting culb representatives and coaches of four I-League sides from Kolkata and two others from the north east.

Koevarmans also stressed on putting in place a proper youth development programme for building a pool of players.
