New Delhi: Four unidentified people, posing as BSES employees, entered the house of a businessman and made away with cash and jewellery worth lakhs of rupees after threatening his wife and children Thursday with a toy gun, police said.
The incident was reported from Soorajmal Vihar of east Delhi’s Anand Vihar area around 2.30 p.m.
“The four men gained entry to the house of Pankaj Aggarwal. At the time of the incident, Aggarwal was out of the house,” a police officer said.
“The accused kept Aggarwal’s wife and three children hostage at the point of a toy gun and robbed of Rs.3 lakh in cash, some jewellery and one iPhone. They tied the hands and legs of the victims before fleeing from the spot,” the officer added.
According to the officer, the accused appeared familiar with the routine Aggarwal followed.
