New Delhi : The BJP Monday slammed the Congress for comments over inducting Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi into the party’s parliamentary board, saying that the Congress was “frustrated” as it knew it was going to lose in the 2014 general elections.
Congress leader Kapil Sibal Sunday said that Modi’s elevation to the party’s parliamentary board would pose a challenge to his own party. Sibal also questioned the elevation of Modi’s confidant Amit Shah as the BJP’s general secretary.
“People have lost faith in the Congress. People have faith in the BJP that it will fulfill their expectations. We have announced a team which will be able to do that, and that is what the Congress is not able to digest,” BJP leader Prakash Javadekar said.
“Kapil Sibal knows he is going to lose in Chandani Chowk, and the Congress is losing as well. It is their frustration that is speaking,” he said.
Javadekar also said that the Congress had “cheated” the common people.
Modi was reinducted in the BJP’s parliamentary board Sunday after a gap of six years. Amit Shah and MP Varun Gandhi were among others inducted in the highest decision-making body of the party.
