New Delhi : A 35-year-old factory worker was arrested for sexually assaulting a minor girl in her house here, police said Sunday.
Avadh Raj, known to the girl’s family, was arrested Saturday from his house in Moti Nagar in west Delhi, police said.
The accused assaulted the 7-year-old girl Wednesday afternoon when her parents were out of their house in west Delhi’s Moti Nagar, police said.
The child’s medical examination confirmed sexual assault, which, however, was not rape, police said.
Raj worked in a fan manufacturing factory in the same area, police said.
He was booked under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, police said.
